TOPICS: PSYCHOLOGY AND THE DIGITAL WORLD in Spring 2027 (PY1910A)

This course examines the intersection of psychology and the digital world. Starting with interdisciplinary research on the digital world, we will explore the macro (structural) aspects of technology to better understand how the macro shapes micro (personal) and meso (interpersonal) experiences. We will also examine psychological principles behind technology use and the impact of the digital world on mental health and interpersonal relationships. Throughout the course, we pose ethical questions at this intersection. Through class discussions, in-class and homework activities, assignments, and a group research project, students will gain a deeper understanding of how the digital world intersects with psychological questions and our everyday worlds.
